Still Life Weekly Gatherings
Still Life Sessions at Brooksvale Park began on Thursday, November 6th. Artists meet at the park's Veterans Memorial Hall (VMH) weekly from 10am to 2pm to create still life drawings and paintings. Remaining sessions are 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, and 1/29. Responsibility to bring in still life arrangements is shared. There is access to water and bathrooms. It is a unique opportunity and space to share your artistic efforts. To participate, register by clicking on this link . The cost is $5 each time you attend payable in advance through PayPal in bundles of three ($16.50 including PayPal transaction fee), or by bringing cash when you attend.
Weekly Open Studio
Weekly Open Studio sessions begin again February 2026, and run through April 2026. Scheduled time is from 10:00 am to 1:00pm at Hamden's Miller Library in the first floor Program Room. Arrive any time after 9:30 to get set up. The sessions at the library will be more for independent projects, a time to finish up paintings, do some sketching and to enjoy each other's company. It is a relatively small space, but it is well lit and has access to water and bathrooms. No solvents or volatile materials allowed. No registration required.
Plein Air Gatherings
The 2025 HAL Plein Air season over. As the weather cools HAL begins weekly Still Life Sessions. See above for details.
