About Hamden Art League

The Hamden Art League is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer member organization funded by annual dues, donations, and grants and managed by a board of directors. 100% of the annual expenditures is allocated to support visual arts activities and programming. The nearly century old organization has a mission “to provide an organization for artists, art students and art patrons for the growth of artistic potential through demonstrations, instruction and individual and group exhibitions".
Membership in the Hamden Art League (HAL) enjoys many advantages, including: • Exhibition of artwork in the Winter and Spring Exhibits • Programs presented by talented local artists • Social events that encourage comradery with other artists • Plein air paint outs at local scenic locations • Monthly newsletter • Website displaying activities and art exhibits • Plein air virtual events • Art workshops • Opportunities to have work critiqued • Community outreach through workshops, critiques, and participation in local fairs and schools* *Support has been provided to Hamden Art League from CT Humanities (CTH), with funding provided by the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) from the Connecticut State Legislature. |
