Drawing People, Places, and Things
At Guilford Art Center: Ten weeks, Thursdays 6-8:00 pm, September 21 – November 24.
At Hamden Adult Ed in North Haven: Ten weeks, Mondays, 6-8 pm, starting September 18
Explore seascape, cityscape and landscape drawing using photo references. Start with selecting your scene according to composition guidelines. For cityscapes, learn how to break down large buildings into basic shapes and textures and draw figures with proper proportions. eginner/Intermediate, teens/adults. Beginner/Intermediate Oil Painting
At Guilford Art Center: Ten weeks, Tuesdays, 4 to 6:30 pm, September 19 - November 21.
At Hamden Adult Ed in North Haven: Eleven weeks, Wednesdays, Starting September 30.

Jeanette Compton will be teaching a class at the Yale Peabody. NSI 168: NESTS IN PEN AND INK that runs Saturdays, September 9 to September 30, 9am-12pm.
The shadows and intricacies of birds' nests lend themselves beautifully to the medium of pen and ink. This workshop will explore the process of drawing a detailed nest from life using a fine liner pen, applying the principles of natural science illustration. Many HAL members have received recognition recently:
Carol Lambiase and Liz Scott will have paintings in the Connecticut Women Artists 2023 National Open Juried Show in September at the Barnes-Franklin Gallery at Tuxis College.
Eva Mugno’s painting was accepted by the New England Watercolor Society for their 2023 Celebrating New England Show. It was on display at the NEWS Gallery until August 7.
A number of HAL members are in the current Clinton Juried show: Diane Chandler, Liz Scott, Celeste DiNello, Sharon Morgio, Darlene James and Jeanette Wimmer.
Liz Scott and Jeanette Wimmer had paintings in the Madison juried show.
